Requirements  

Must have experience:

·      (+6 YOE) Extensive experience as a PostgreSQL database Administrator with strong working

·      (+6 YOE) knowledge of Operational/Systems DBA to setup and support PostgreSQL

·      (+6 YOE) In-depth knowledge of the PostgreSQL architecture

·      (+6 YOE) Experienced in installing, configuring, and upgrading PostgreSQL databases and clusters

·      (+6 YOE) Experience in scripting languages (shell or python or Perl) for automating DBA administrative tasks

·      (+2 YOE) Setting up users’ tools for administration

·      (+6 YOE) Experience in deploying PostgreSQL in Linux on Power environment and a good understanding of operating system concepts of Linux (RHEL)

·      (+2 YOE) Proven experience in working in a mission critical environment in a multi-terabyte database platforms

·      (+2 YOE) Working knowledge of architecting, configuring, setting up Enterprise Fail over manager for HA solution

·      (+1-2 YOE) Experience in setting up PostgreSQL Replication

·      Perform routine maintenance on several database environments including application of updates, patches, and hotfixes

Nice to have experience:

·      High MongoDB administration

·      Oracle DB administration

·      SQL Server administration

·      Experience in configuring and supporting Enterprise Manager

Responsibilities 

·      DB Infrastructure capacity planning (workload: storage, users, concurrency, memory, i/o, latency, throughput, etc)

·      Design and Implementation of Disaster Recovery: DB infrastructure

·      Design plan to periodically DR test                              

·      Design of Backup/Recovery Strategy: Database infrastructure

·      Design plan to periodically test Backup & Recovery strategy

·      Design and Creation of Security Policy and Compliance Strategies

·      Design and Implementation of database infrastructure

·      Installation & configuration of HA infrastructure

·      Design of Monitoring Strategies and implementation for new tools

·      Tuning given SQL statements

·      Analysis for Tuning db infrastructure parameters stack (rdbms, compute nodes os, network, storage, etc)

·      Evaluation and POC Implementation of Performance and Tuning Tools

·      Design of Access Management Policies

·      Audit Policies Design

·      Security Policies Design

·      Database creation for new Projects

·      Installation, Configuration, Major Upgrade (engineered systems, HA)

·      Configuration, and Major Upgrade (engineered systems, HA)
